Long Description

Join artists Colin Woodward and Toby Haseler for an energetic, fast-paced two-day urban sketching workshop in the vibrant heart of Belfast. Based at the iconic MAC (Metropolitan Arts Centre), this Sold Out event takes full advantage of the city's rich architecture, historic streets, and lively atmosphere to deliver an immersive sketching experience.

What to Expect

Designed to be hands-on and immersive, the workshop blends indoor studio clinics with real-world outdoor sketching. Weather permitting, you will venture out into the hustle and bustle of Belfast to capture the energy, light, and character of the city on location, returning to the MAC for focused review and technique development.

Workshop Highlights

  • Dual Tutor Instruction: Benefit from demonstrations, step-by-step techniques, and personal feedback from two experienced artists, Colin Woodward and Toby Haseler.

  • Urban Landscape Focus: Learn how to break down complex architectural scenes, build strong compositions quickly, and use expressive mark-making to capture city life without getting bogged down in detail.

  • Central Creative Base: Enjoy facilities at The MAC, providing a comfortable studio environment for warm-ups, group feedback, and protection from the weather if needed.
