Sketching for Beginner's

This is a weekend for anyone who feels they're a beginner. You might be a total beginner, or you might have been sketching for a while. But you'd like to get a bit more hands on coaching and confidence to take your sketching to the next step.

Through the weekend our aims will be to...

• Build confidence and looseness in your sketching

• Start to see like an artist

• Understand how to use loose colours and keep them transparent

• Build contrast in your sketching through more advanced watercolour techniques

We will be based in ArtSpace, Cambridge (5 Green's Rd, Cambridge CB4 3EF), which is fully accessible, close to the centre of Cambridge and easy to get to on foot or using the park and ride buses.

Timings for the weekend

We will start at 10am and finish at around 4pm on both days, with a one hour break for lunch. There will be tea, coffee and light snacks/biscuits available all day. 

What to bring (supplies can be provided at additional cost - just contact me to arrange/enquire)

• Fountain pen or fine liner (your favourite sketching pen), with waterproof ink

• A sketchbook with watercolour paper, or a pad of watercolour paper

• Small watercolour kit (colours, brushes)

• Something for lunch (there are cafes and shops around the corner)

Terms and Conditions

Your purchase is fully refunded within two weeks of purchase. After two weeks, refunds are only possible at our discretion and if your place can be filled. If we have to cancel for any reason, a full refund will be provided.

Inclusions and Exclusions

Included in your payment is hire of a venue for the weekend for all indoor sketching, tuition from Toby for all timetabled activities. We will also provide coffee, tea and snacks at the venue.

Excluded are travel, accommodation, and the materials that you are suggested to bring (unless specifically requested) and lunch.
